We do hope that some of you will be able to come to Matlock and support the team whenever possible during the week.

 

The teams arrived at Matlock on Sunday 25 June for their practice rounds and County Captain, Helen Maber was very pleased to receive so many good wishes cards for the team table. The team buggy has also been well decorated for the week. Thank you to Esme's mum for the fantastic bunting! 

 

 

Monday : A brilliant start to our week, with some excellent golf and very tight matches against the Derbyshire home team, and a win for Notts 5-4!

Tuesday : Another great performance today against last year's winners, Staffordshire. Notts won all three foursomes matches with some excellent golf being played by all the team once again.

Wednesday: The day started in very wet conditions after heavy rainfall all night. After some discussion it was agreed that the foursomes matches would go ahead even though the first green was declared unplayable. Play started on the 2nd hole with a half given for the first. The Notts team played some excellent gritty golf in extremely difficult conditions, winning the morning foursomes 3-0 against Lincolnshire. The rain had persisted all morning and no one was surprised when the tournament committee announced that the afternoons play would be cancelled and the matches declared as halved. Notts ended the third day 6-3 against Lincolnshire.
The team was given the afternoon off to dry out and relax ready for the final two days of the tournament.

Thursday: Despite persistent rain overnight the greens staff at Matlock worked very hard to enable play to continue as normal today.
Our foursomes teams once again proved to be strong in the morning giving us a 2½ - ½ win against Shropshire. There was some excellent golf played by the Notts girls this afternoon with two matches finishing all square on the 18th and four wins giving us a won 7½ - 1½ and leaving us top of the table as we prepare for the final day
Another day of excellent golf and fantastic team spirit!

Friday: Day five of county week ended with Notts the only team undefeated during the tournament. The foursomes finished with a fantastic 3-0 win for us with four more wins in the afternoon singles.

Terrific golf played by the whole team all week in some very difficult conditions and huge congratulations to all our wonderful players.
Thanks too to all our supporters who have been at Matlock during the week.
On now to the England Finals at Felixstowe Ferry on 18th September!
