County Waltz 2018
This year the County Waltz took place at Chilwell Manor Golf Club on 23rd April, on an overcast day with a breeze keeping temperatures down, but luckily no rain. 40 teams entered the competition, with the course proving to be a tough challenge for many of us. However, two teams stood out, the winners being Kath Else, Sue Taylor and Joanna Smith from Sherwood Forest GC with a great score of 72 points, followed in second place by Rosemary Lockwood, Clare Jones and Lindsay Curruthers from Beeston Fields GC with 70 points. In third place were Audrey MacMillan, Sue Lockwood and Debbie Knox from Norwood Park GC with 63 points, won on count back from Sue Nickless, Liz Martin and Jennifer of Southwell GC who took fourth place, also on count back from Colette Newton, Anne Harris and Jane Fowler of Notts Ladies GC taking fifth place.
The nearest the pin prizes were won by Linda Jackson on the 4th hole, Sharon Coyne 9th hole, Carol Bancroft 12th hole and Eva Glasby on the 15th. Well done to everyone that played and thank you for supporting the raffle. A good day was had by all; thanks to volunteers from Chilwell Ladies, Marilyn, Kathryn, Marian and Roz, providing welcome refreshments in the new half way hut and after the golf Sally and her catering team serving an excellent meal.
